MATAB students win 15 medals at Malaysia Best of Taekwondo Fighter 2026
On day two of the championship, 15 August 2026, MATAB students won 5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals in individual sparring. Congratulations to all.
Students of Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Abu Bakar (MATAB) stepped onto the mat at the Malaysia Best of Taekwondo Fighter 2026 (4th MBOTF), an ITF taekwondo championship held in Kelantan in August. On day two, Saturday 15 August 2026, they competed in individual sparring.
They came away with 5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals. Congratulations to every participant. Each student who stepped onto the mat had trained, prepared and competed with courage, whether they went home with a medal or with the experience.
For tahfiz students, taking part in championships like this brings a valuable dimension to personal growth. Memorising the Quran and classroom lessons remain the core focus, while sports provide an avenue to challenge their potential outside the classroom.
Martial arts build discipline, confidence and fitness. On the mat, students learn to focus, stay in control and respect their opponents. That same discipline helps them maintain focus when revising their hafazan and studying each day.
Thank you to the coaches, teachers and parents who supported the students through training and the championship. May this success encourage them to keep striving, on the mat and in their hafazan.
